Bugs and Buttercups…

The day had dawned with clear blue skies….it was going to be a beautiful day!

We packed up a picnic and headed to The Heath…

We took our bug kit with us for a bug hunt….

We decided to have our picnic first before we went hunting…..

Then the bug hunting began!

Michael and Jack were first to spot something….

Then everyone came to take a look!

What was the mini beast they had caught?

It was a tiny Ladybird…but suddenly she flew away….

Nannie Lee remembered the rhyme from when she was a little girl about a Ladybird….

Ladybird Ladybird fly away home……

Your house is on fire and your children have gone!

We actually agreed that was a silly rhyme and too sad for such a nice day….

Soon it was time to go home….we walked through the cool woods

and came upon a field of buttercups….

They looked so beautiful….we picked one to see who liked butter….which was all of us!

So it was onward home past the horses grazing on The Heath

What a lovely day….
