We have just spent a lovely afternoon at Norton Priory…looking at bee’s and insects…
Nannie Lee explained that bee’s live in a special house called a hive and they produced honey to eat…
and wax for candles…
Bee’s are very useful to have around…
We cut and coloured and produced some super bee’s
Some were very colourful…
Watch out for the swarm of bee’s!
We found some funny glasses that showed us how bee’s and insects see the world…
which is very different to us…
We went outside into the gardens and found some bugs with our bug kit…
We searched high…
and low for our bugs…
We found a worm… a woodlouse…a centipede and a beetle…
and we saw lots of interesting things through our binoculars too…
Like a mummy in a tree…watch out mummy!
When we got home we found a book called Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree…Nannie Lee read it to us …
What a wonderful afternoon…
