Now we know that some berries are not good to eat…and we mustn’t eat any berry without asking first…

The hedgerows around our village are full of berries we’ve spotted hawthorne…sloe…honeysuckle…rosehips…elderberries…but this year the blackberries are the most abundant…the bushes are weighed down with the fruit…

We set off one afternoon to pick some of this delicious fruit to make a pie…

We found a huge bush and started to pick…

It was lovely work and we soon had lots of blackberries…

they stained our fingers red but we didn’t care!

The result of our picking was worth it!
